DIANE LANE MAKES THE KINDEST CUT OF ALL TO LAUNCH PANTENE® BEAUTIFUL LENGTHS™ CAMPAIGN

- Pantene and Entertainment Industry Foundation™ Join Forces to Encourage Hair Donations Nationwide -

CINCINNATI - Award-winning actress Diane Lane announced today she will cut off her hair and donate it to launch a new charitable campaign called Pantene Beautiful Lengths in July 2006. In partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), the leading charitable organization in the entertainment business, Pantene’s campaign will be the first in the country to encourage women and men to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to make wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

In addition to creating and distributing wigs made of real hair, Pantene will make a $1 million donation to the Women's Cancer Research Fund™ (WCRF), an initiative of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that is committed to saving lives by raising funds and awareness for millions of women and their families at risk of or affected by cancer.

Diane Lane will star in a Pantene Beautiful Lengths public service announcement (PSA) that will debut in national publications this summer. The PSA's call to action asks people to follow Diane’s example and "make the kindest cut of all" by donating their hair. Additionally, 50 local community heroes - one from each of the 50 states - will have an opportunity to volunteer as Pantene hometown ambassadors that not only donate their hair, but lead the crusade in their community to get more people involved in this unique call to action.

"One in three women will get cancer in her lifetime, and 58 percent of women say that they fear hair loss more than any other side effect of cancer," said Amanda Hill, brand manager, Pantene. "At Pantene we are passionate about women’s hair and women’s health, and we are introducing Pantene Beautiful Lengths as a personal, profound way Americans can support women in their life-changing struggle."
