RACE FOR HOPE THIS WEEKEND TO BENEFIT EIF'S NATIONAL COLORECTAL CANCER RESEARCH ALLIANCE
Team Hope runs marathons to raise funds and awareness for colorectal cancer.
COLUMBUS, OHIO (October 5, 2005) - On October 9, 2005 Road of Life will present RACE FOR HOPE - a 5k race and 1-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for the Entertainment Industry Foundation's National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (EIF's NCCRA) and Ohio State University's Arthur G. James Cancer Institute. The second annual RACE FOR HOPE will take place this Sunday, at Grigg's Reservoir in Columbus, OH. The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages.
"My goal is to see RACE FOR HOPE become a place where those affected by cancer can come together and make a difference," says event founder Carleen Taylor. The race is held in memory of Peggy Bock, a long-time friend of Taylor's, and her inspiration for the RACE FOR HOPE.
In addition to RACE FOR HOPE, Taylor has added another dimension to her race against cancer, founding TEAM HOPE, which will run marathons across the country to raise funds and awareness to battle cancer. "With TEAM HOPE," says Taylor, "I wanted to expand our mission even further, so people all across the country could join fight against cancer."
