Ohio's Race For Hope Unites Family And Friends To Raise Funds For Colon Cancer Research And Prevention
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 2, 2004) - This April Road of Life will present RACE FOR HOPE - a 5k race and 1-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for the Entertainment Industry Foundation's National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (EIF's NCCRA) and Ohio State University's Arthur G. James Cancer Institute.
RACE FOR HOPE will take place on Sunday, April 25, 2004 in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages. This year's race is in honor of Peggy Bock, a young energetic mother who maintains her hope as she faces stage IV colon cancer.
"Race for Hope is for all cancer patients, their friends and their families because there must always be hope," says event founder Carleen Taylor. "My wish is to see my friend Peggy, her boys, and her husband walk across the finish line together this spring."
EIF's NCCRA will be distributing colon cancer educational CD-roms and brochures at the event. You can help out by joining or donating to this year's RACE FOR HOPE. For more information, please e-mail Carleen Taylor at carleen@raceforhope.com or visit www.raceforhope.com.
Road of Life's mission is to educate children about the fitness and nutrition they make can lead to a healthier life and raise a healthier generation of children with a significantly lower risk of cancer.
